Cherie A Motti

Cherie’s research covers a range of diverse topics, all with a common theme – to understand chemical communication in the marine environment. She applies chemical analytical techniques to study invertebrate symbioses, larval recruitment and disease and stress responses, Crown-of-Thorns starfish biocontrol technologies (including the Giant triton snail), degradation of sunscreens, detection of oils and most recently the characterisation of marine microplastic contaminants on the Great Barrier Reef.
