Historically, nuclear and isotopic techniques have been appreciated as reliable complementary approaches to improve our understanding of contaminant transfer in marine organisms. These techniques are now being utilized to tackle important topics involving global environmental change and recognized for their effectiveness in multidisciplinary approaches examining the impacts of stressors on marine biota. In this presentation, I aim to provide an overview of existing techniques, highlighting a selection of successful studies to show how these tools can be developed in the future for examining emerging issues or finding solutions to mitigate future marine changes.
